I'm just updated the Ride Info section with details of up and coming flight opportunities for Feb 2010

If there is a tour stop coming to a city near you, why go out and pay them a visit ! Ground tours are inexpensive and every contribution helps to keep these flying legends in the sky where they belong.
 

Make a date with Tondelayo

The Collings Foundations B-25J Mitchell is spending a few weeks at Kissimmee Airport in Florida rubbing shoulders with the WW2 T-6 trainers operated by Warbird Adventures.

Rides in the B-25 are priced at USD 400 for the front seats and USD 325 for the waist.

 

Doolittle Raiders reunion 2010 ~ April 16th thru 18th 2010

The 68th Doolittle Tokyo Raiders Reunion will take place at the National Museum of the US Air Force, located at Dayton, Ohio. Sponsorship is being sought to enable up to twenty-five B-25 Mitchells to attend this event, which would make this the largest gathering of Mitchells since the end of WW2.

If you want to travel to or from the event in style check out the B-25J "Pacific Prowler" web site ~ they are offering seats on a cost sharing basis. I'm sure it will be the experience of a lifetime for those who can afford it !

 

Dates for the diary ~ August 7th and 8th 2010

The Yankee Air Museum has set the theme for next year's Thunder Over Michigan Airshow at Willow Run ~ "The Gathering of Fortresses and Legends.....The Final Mission". Invitations have been sent to every B-17 operator. This will be an important show for every one in love with heavy bombers from WW2 and the B-17 in particular.

You can follow how the airshow is shaping up by following the "TOM" thread on Warbirds Information Exchange As of Feb 5th there are SEVEN B-17's scheduled to attend the show !

 

The 100th Bomb Group memorial exhibit

A new permanent exhibit dedicated to the memory of "The Bloody Hundredth" went on display in California at the Palm Springs Air Museum on January 23rd this year.

 

Make a date with Barbie III

History Flight have published there tour schedule for 2010 and will be visiting cities in at least ten States this summer. I've added the dates for Jan / Feb to the Ride Info section on this web site ( Jan 19th )

 

Collings Foundation ~ 21st season for the Wings Of Freedom Tour

The Collings Foundation has announced dates and locations for the first part of the 2010 Wings Of Freedom tour. I've now added these to the Ride Info section on this web site ( Jan 18th )

 

Make a date with the Liberty Belle

The Liberty Foundation have published two dates on their 2010 tour schedule.  The first of these dates covers a Ultimate WW2 Adventure experience weekend. I've added these to the Ride Info section for Georgia ( Jan 19th )

Fuddy Duddy goes under cover !

Airworthy B-17G Flying Fortress "Fuddy Duddy" is owned and operated by General William Lyons in California. It now forms part of the recently opened Lyons Air Museum at Santa Ana airport. The Generals B-25 Mitchell, "Return to Glory" is also on show in the museum.
